Announcements:
Charlie Norz reviewed the success of the dictionary project.  In 2002-2003 we were the only
club in the district to do this distributing 360 books.  Last year 29 clubs participated giving
     out 9600 books!
Peter Manley announced our changing of the guard dinner meeting at Dock & Dine on
Wednesday, June 27th.  A sign up sheet was passed around today and will be for the
    next few weeks.
Brent wanted to pass on Marty's thanks for all those who helped out during the golf
tourney.  Preliminary results for the tourney may come in around $21-22K
Ilene Baker, a school board member and a strong advocate for hearing disorders thanked
the club for our donation of $800 for a child from El Salvador that needed a hearing aid.
The club also presented her with a $100 check for her continuing work.

Program:
Ron Scott reviewed our history in the scholarship program.  It was started in 1977 with
an initial grant of $500.  The annual outlay now is in the vicinity of $4000 or more!
Ron thanked the committee of Shirley Von Dassell, Ran King, Ed Pinn and Stan
Niemerski for their continuing help and support.  Ed Pinn stated most of the credit goes
to Ron Scott for his guidance and leadership in the program over the years.  Comments
were made as to the skyrocketing cost of education these days.  Stan Niemerski
thought we might give some thought to our approach to the program.  All in all the
scholarship program is a daunting task considering the comprehensive selection process
and the number of qualified applicants.  The committee has done a wonderful job of
selecting great candidates and they haven't disappointed us.  Still a very worthy and
    worthwhile project!
