Club Business:
    Sandi Taylor gave thanks to all who helped and gave flowers to Gail Antoniac, Emmy Niemerski and Joan Michaud for their support. 
    Bill Suits informed the club that his committee is in possession of 3 applications for assistance
    Ron Scott spoke about the scholarship committee's work which is underway - reviewing 10 applicants. Awards will be made at the June 14 meeting. All Rotarians should attend this important meeting. Most of our fundraising efforts go to sholarship awards.
    Matt Rubin needs volunteers for the Amistad event which takes place Friday (4-7pm), Sat (1:30-4pm) and Sun (1:30-7pm) June 9-11th. Help is needed to park cars and sell items.
    Ron Genther than spoke of the Student Exchange Program and talked about the success of the program. In attendance were 2 of the 3 host families who were given tokens of appreciation for all they did. The host families are the Andersons, Martels and the Curtis's. Our exchange student, Diana Lazaretti from Brazil had a most enjoyable and fulfilling stay in the U.S. thanks to the host families. Diana attained high honors at Old Saybrook High School..quite an achievment. She also received Gold and Silver awards in a regional competition. Diana spoke, thanking everyone for everything especially the club for underwriting her class trip to Disney World.
    John Donnelly was given an award for his tireless efforts in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.
    We broke for dinner and was treated to an outstanding meal by Dave and Sharon Tiezzi..thank you so much!
Program:
Following dinner, Tony Bacewicz gave a slide show of his trip which was a re-tracing of Amelia Ehrhart's last flight. The plane was a Lockheed Electra piloted by Lina Finch. The flight started in Oakland, CA. It was quite an interesting presentation encompassing remote places.
