Assistant D G Jack Soloman iontroduced our new D G Brian Amey. Brian was born in Southampton England served in The Royal Air Force, joined Rotary in 2000 went throught the ranks to President of The rotary Club of Newtown and now D G of 7980. Business President of Newtown Savings Bank.
D G Brian's theme "Lighten The Burden" People in the communities we serve need help. Brian complimented The Rotary Club of Old Saybrook on our commitment to Community Service.
Challenges for Rotary year 2012 - 2013 are fourfold
1.) Break the 1.2 million member barrier
2.) Complete Polio Plus challenge
3.) Your Community Needs You
4.) Remember The Object of Rotary
Brian urged one and all to work at strengthening Membership, rethink our commitment to The Object of Rotary and the Avenues of Service, Club Serviced, Vocational Service, Community Service, International Service, and New Generation Service.
Brian reminded us that the District 7980 Conference will be held next May 16 - 19 2013 at Saratoge Springs, NY
