John Donnelly needs people to call for the Youth Exchange host family - time is running out!
Charlie Norz: Gave a report on the Dictionary Project. Our club was the first in Conn. to do this project which has been met most enthusiastically by the 3rd graders who receive them at no cost and the educators. We started this project in 2002 - 2003. We pay $1.50 per dictionary thru the program. Nationwide, over 3 million dictionaries have been distributed.
Bob Antoniac has a signup sheet for our Food Booth which is the last weekend in July. Lets come together in fill in all the slots. This is part of the annual Art Show on the Green.
Bill O'Shaughnessy gave out the remaining 2 awards for club service to Bob Antoniac and Ran King who were unable to attend the Changing of the Guard meeting.
Program:
Peter Manley introduced Bob Hale who stood before us, not as Principal of Westbrook High School but as Magician Bob Hale. Bob is part owner of a magic store in Rocky Hill. He got involved in magic as a youth and has dabbled ever since. Bob performed some "illusions" that got us all wondering, "How did he do that?". His performance was entertaining and professionally done. Great Job Bob!
