Today's healthcare system is complex. Often people see more than 1 doctor and have multiple prescriptions from multiple doctors who may or may not know what each of them are prescribing. This is one of the services LPCN provides. In addition they:
- Educate and manage chronic conditions like atrial fib, congestive heart failure, COPD, etc.
- Help organize meds and insures each doctor knows what the other is doing
- Pre and Post operative education, guidance and home care advice
- Goes over doctor visits so you know whats important. Checks for changes and concerns about prescriptions
- My Chart review and help with use of the application
- Provides an emergency binder which contains information for the patient and caregivers to honor the patient's wishes (i.e. DNR, etc.)
- Monthly membership includes 2 hours guaranteed services, educational seminars
- Options available: hourly services, case management, client advocacy, chronic condition support

Pete Zucco:
- Food insecurity is an initiative we will be working on as a club. There is a fundraiser for Meals on Wheels on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 5pm - 9pm at the Estuary
- The Arts & Crafts Festival is in October. Look for Pete's email for an organizational meeting to plan our food booth
Golf Tournament - Charlie Renshaw
Its happening Sept. 8 at Fox Hopyard so its time to put our effort into high gear! We are expecting 72-78 golfers (more is better) and so far 34 have signed up. Hole in one insurance is arranged and items have been purchased for the ditty bags which are given to the golfers.
Sponsors are important to the success of the tournament so please get sponsors. Aug. 25 is the deadline for new sponsors to allow time to have the sign made.
Please sign up if you can help with the tournament on Sept. 8. There are 2 shifts: 10:30-12:30 and 12:30-5:00. Hole in one holes must be monitored to the last golfer.
Gary is the point person for raffle items. Lottery tickets are a great item. So far we have 15 items. Last year we had over 50 items which resulted in 25 raffle prizes. We want many winners so more is better. Saybrook Lawn & Power donated a weed trimmer - great item! Lets get more!
Credit cards will be accepted at the tournament. Real Merchant Services is our provider.
John Aforismo: John has developed letterheads that incorporates the club's 100th anniversary. He also has labels for everyone to use in their correspondences. The idea of a banner noting our 100th anniversary was discussed. The banner could be displayed on Main St. Old Saybrook.
Impact 100, a women's nonprofit is looking for members. Joan Winters can help if you're interested. Lucille Pelletier spoke at a recent meeting. Here is the link to the minutes of that meeting: LINK

Nancy Morin spoke about the concert tonight. Volunteers are asked to show up at the town green at 6:00pm to set up the tent. Nancy will bring popsicles to hand out.
John announced Shredding Day, Sept. 27. He is having labels made to go over the old lawn signs.
Pete talked about the latest board meeting and it was decided that the club would subscribe to a merchant service called Real Merchant Services. They did our Wine Tasting and it worked out great. Transactions take place on designated cell phones. You can call a winning prize winner to pick up their item - a great feature. Right now, Pete and Kathy are the designated club contacts. Someone other than Pete needs to take his over due to business conflict. The cost is $55 per month.
We received a thank you card from Middlesex Community College for our $3,000 donation to their scholarship program for alternative awardees.
A thank you was also received for our donation to the Duck Race in Clinton.
Texas disaster donation: We have been collecting contributions at our recent events including summer concerts. To date we have collected $1,321 which we will match bringing the total to $2,642 to the communities of Kerr County particularly Kerrville. Other clubs will be doing the same - that's the power of Rotary!
Meeting Aug. 20: Joe Courtney, 2nd District Congressman, will be speaking at our meeting Aug. 20 at the VFW. It will be an open meeting with invites to members of the VFW. John will ask Bob for a signup sheet and the VFW members won't be charged to attend. Joe will talk about food insecurity, literacy and veterans issues.
The VFW Hall is in need of repairs which we will help with. The floor needs work and will cost about $1200. John will talk to Bob (Mgr VFW) about cleaning out items so we may get a call to run out and help. Items need to go to the dump and the floor needs to be open for the work to take place.
